Cyber Resilience Summit: Europe
With threats escalating and the cost of data breaches soaring, cyber resilience is an increasingly critical leadership priority. The annual cost of global cybercrime damage is expected to reach $9.5tn in 2024. As the prevalence and impact of data leaks continue to grow, developing technologies, such as AI, quantum and cloud solutions, are adding layers of risk and complexity to digital governance and security. On top of this, cyber attackers are becoming more adept at targeting vulnerabilities by exploiting the latest innovations. However, new technologies also offer solutions for data protection, including AI-driven capabilities that can help safeguard employees, customers and reputations, protecting economic and business growth.
The Financial Times’ Cyber Resilience Summit: Europe gathered senior strategic and operational leaders, innovators and other experts to address evolving cybersecurity risks. The programme focused on the latest innovations in cyber governance, and the opportunities for collaboration to secure and exploit technology and other assets that can protect key sectors including finance, critical infrastructure, healthcare, utilities and more.
Key themes and discussions included:
What have we learnt about cyber resilience over the last year? What new vulnerabilities are there in critical infrastructure and supply chains?
What increased security risks are associated with AI, IoT, quantum and cloud solutions?
Where are the opportunities to enhance threat intelligence and modernise cyber defences with AI?
How much headway are business leaders making to integrate protection into corporate planning and digital governance?
What does it take to respond and recover from a cyber attack?
How can workforce skills and capabilities be improved to fortify company-wide cyber security practices?
"I think the topics to be discussed were really at the forefront of a lot of peoples agendas. So it was great to get input on how other companies are managing their cybersecurity landscape" - Executive Lead, Mastercard
